Our Values
HONESTY
People are at the core of everything we do. We value honest, respectful relationships that are built on trust and integrity.
COLLABORATION
We value your time and ours. We want you to know that every minute we work together, is an opportunity to collaborate. Collaboration is essential to building and strengthening relationships to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.
EMPATHY
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
We treat ourselves, colleagues and clients with empathy by putting ourselves in their shoes and making the effort to understand others rather than to judge. Our team is committed to supporting worthy causes, and value giving back to the community.
ADVENTUROUS
We value innovation, courage and action to build on what makes us different and solving client challenges. We cultivate an environment of critical thinkers and innovators and encourage people to ask “why?”. As leaders, we have to be willing to explain our why.
Our People
Our Story
LARA SPENCE | FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR
Lara is a purpose-driven leader who strives to make a real difference in the health sector. Taking on a new challenge and giving it a red-hot go has been a common thread in her career. This entrepreneurial spirit has shaped her career over the last 15+ years, working and living across Africa, the UK, Europe, and now Australia.
A published biochemist and IP legal professional by profession, Lara is not your typical consultant, and this is her superpower. Lara likes to reinvent things, build from the ground up, and cheer and lift you up as you do the same. Lara bares her heart and is a vulnerable leader who values expertise, but measures success in the power of long-lasting relationships. Lara has a passion for listening to (and understanding) the voice of the consumer and putting people at the center of everything she does.
Lara’s first job was as a wine merchant (and taster), before moving to London and working in the life sciences and medical research field. Lara led significant health business portfolios overseas before falling into core health consulting whilst living in South Africa. Lara moved to Sydney, Australia, and took over the national reins to lead the healthcare business at Ipsos, one of the biggest global market research and advisory firms. In 2020, Lara relocated to Adelaide where she successfully established and built the government health consulting practice in South Australia for PwC (from scratch)...and well, the rest is history.
Lara possesses a unique ability to rapidly build strong teams and she is now harnessing that ability to encourage more females into digital health and technology consulting. Her mission is clear - we exist to help improve the health outcomes of all Australians, and she has founded Digivate Health to achieve exactly that.
Women in Digital Health
“Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception” — Ruth Bader-Ginsburg.
Women's struggle for equal access in the technology space is undeniably evident. According to Korn Ferry, research reveals that women account for a mere five percent of CEO positions at the technology leadership level, with a paltry 10 percent holding either CIO or CTO roles.
At Digivate Health, we are passionately committed to empowering and welcoming more females into the health tech consulting space. We strongly support FemTech innovation, including technology, products, services, and companies focusing on women’s unique healthcare needs and preferences. We’re here to redefine the landscape, empowering women to break down barriers, flourish in their careers and achieve equality within the industry.
